Concierge Services

Methodist Healthcare International Services strives to make your stay as comfortable as possible. In order to better accommodate your needs, we provide you with a comprehensive set of complimentary concierge services.

Your International Specialist

When you contact Methodist Healthcare, an International Services specialist is assigned to you. The specialist will answer your questions and monitor your case as we take care of you.
 

 Your Physician Specialist (International Physicians Panel)

International Services works in close collaboration with members of Methodist Healthcare’s International Physicians’ Panel. Members of the Panel provide comprehensive care in a broad spectrum of specialties and work together to provide coordinated care for patients whose medical conditions may dictate a multidisciplinary approach. All of the doctors serving on the Panel are distinguished by:

  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness to better meet the needs of the patient
  • Commitment to keep referring physicians updated on the patient’s status
  • Flexibility in accepting and scheduling patients

In addition, concierge medicine is an option for patients who may needs personalized care 24/7 from a member of the International Physician Panel. Please consult with you International Specialist for additional information regarding this exclusive service.
 

Medical Records Review

International Services can receive your medical records via email, facsimile or traditional mail. The appropriate specialist on our International Physicians Panel will review your records to determine the best course of treatment depending on your medical condition. 

Physician Appointments

Once your medical needs have been determined, International Services will schedule all necessary physician consultations, tests and procedures to accommodate your schedule. Before you travel, we will have a complete schedule to meet your needs.

Financial Arrangements

Once you have submitted your medical records for review allowing us to consult with an International Physcian Panel specialist and received your treatment plan, we will also be able to develop a cost estimate, review your insurance coverage and assist you with financial.
Please note that physicians, lodging, travel expenses and any medical care at non-Methodist Healthcare facilities are not usually included in this estimate. However, your International Services specialist will be able to help you compile a general overview of the costs involved in your trip to San Antonio.

Language Assistance

Language will not be a barrier at the Methodist Healthcare. We have the resources available to meet the needs of any patient regardless of country of origin. These services are provided at no additional charge to medical care provided, for both inpatient and outpatient settings. If an interpreter is needed, please notify International Services when arranging your appointments.

Travel Arrangements

International Services assists patients and their families with travel arrangements including airline reservations, hotel accommodations and ground transportation. Let us know your needs, preference and budget. Air Ambulance

Methodist Emergency Travel Assistance (META) is a service coordinated by Internaitonal Services with facilitates access to its world class-tertiary care hospitals in San Antonio, Texas. In an emergency time is critical. In order to respond immediately to medical emergencies International Services has developed the protocols necessary to arrange air ambulance transfers from abroad. More information is available on our META page.

Patient Preferences and Requests

If hospital services are required, we will make sure any special requests (language, cultural, religious consultation, dietary, etc.) are addressed. Throughout your stay, your International Specialist will make sure you fully understand all procedures, tests, results and conditions while the Methodist staff understands your preferences and needs.

Follow-Up Care

As part of planning your medical care, Methodist Healthcare can arrange to ensure a thorough consultation with your personal physician(s) before, during and after your trip to San Antonio. Medical records, including all test results, imaging and other data, can be transmitted to medical offices in your home country as needed. Conversely, medical care at our facilities is entirely confidential, and we will not release any information without your consent.
